Traditionally, the rule of thumb has been 1 Berghia per 50 L of reef tank, primarily because Berghia can run out of food (Aiptasia) over time. However, as the first EU-based company to offer live Aiptasia to purchase, we can support a much higher stocking density of up to 5 Berghia per 10 L of water.

This approach is supported by peer reviewed research from Monteiro et al. (2019), which shows that growth and survival of Berghia are closely tied to consistent access to appropriately sized Aiptasia, not tank volume. By providing a steady food supply, stocking at higher densities becomes not only possible, but sustainable.
